Customer Service Advisor

Summary:

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Service Advisor is responsible for serving as a liaison between the customer and technicians - which involves providing a high level of communication with customers and co-workers, providing superior customer service, scheduling repairs, assigning work to technicians, preparing repair orders, billing repair orders, entering work orders into the computer system, and other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Speak with customers over the phone and in person to gather relevant contacts and repair information needed by the customer.
  • Write up customer's vehicle problems accurately and clearly on Express Write-up, verify customer information. Obtain customer's signature Establish customer's method of payment. Obtain credit approval, if necessary.
  • Notify Assistant Service Manager of incoming work and repair order status
  • Advise customers of necessary repair service including estimates of cost.
  • Check on progress of repair throughout the day. Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
  • Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed, and additional work and authorization is noted.
  • Review and close service orders for accuracy and completeness.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Previous experience in Truck Service is preferred
  • Experience with Procede or other Heavy-Duty Truck DMS
  • Highly effective verbal and written communications
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor
  • AA degree, technical school degree, or 1 years of related experience preferred
  • Computer skills to include Outlook, Word, Excel, & Repair Order Processing
