Job Description

EBAD is seeking aProduct Engineer(PE) with project management experience working in a manufacturing environment. The PE position reports directly to the Product Engineering Lead (PEL).

Responsibilities:

The Product Engineer (PE) is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical and schedule aspects of the project/product throughout the production life cycle. Primary duties include:

  • Track status and ensure completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications and tooling).
  • Solve manufacturing problems, investigate process failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
  • Generate content for Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process 3P (Production, Preparation, Process), and critical design reviews (CDR).
  • Develop manufacturing cell layouts including tooling, machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Create standard work and contribute to manufacturing planning.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval of documentation.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering and manufacturing or related engineering experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies. Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience in the following areas:

  • Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems using formal problem-solving tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices
  • In-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems.
  • Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Design of tooling and fixtures.
  • MS Office- Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems.
