Job Description The Test Production Supervisor, Electronics is responsible to manage the execution of daily activities required to support development and repeat production programs within the Electronics Value Stream. This position manages test technicians, and oversees these roles in the logistics, coordination and execution of all tasks associated with product testing. Principal duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Maintaining the production visual board in each area, illustrating the status of the production activities for current programs.
- Proactively alleviating constraints and bottlenecks to successfully execute production master schedule.
- Conducting manpower planning to ensure alignment of resources needed to execute yearly backlog & proposed production requirements.
- Assign team activities required to be flowing through the production cells and tracking team productivity against the planned work.
- Ensuring team objectives are met and visible through the use of SQDC boards.
- Driving the execution of corrective actions and identification of systemic issues.
- Presenting production area performance (SQDC and Program Status) to senior management on the Gemba walk
- Coordinating team activities to brief site operations leadership at Quarterly Operating Reviews.
- Presenting forward-looking capacity for team at recurring SIOP reviews.
- Working with other Production Managers, Product Engineers, Production Planner, Master Scheduler and Buyers to ensure material flow and production activities are aligned.
- Working with Supply Chain group to establish and maintain stocking strategies and effective material kanbans.
- Executing proper material issuances and production reporting to ensure floor stock accuracy for team.
- Providing leadership and coaching to direct reports.
- Maintaining team development and training plans.
- Evaluating production activities for continuous improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
- Strong planning skills, with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, proficient in MS Office Suite: Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Ability to motivate people, particularly in a production workforce environment
- LEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience valued
