Description
Acara Solutions is seeking a dedicated Licensed Medical Technologist specializing in Immunology for a premier employer in Williamsville, NY. This role involves performing laboratory procedures with precision and accuracy, ensuring the delivery of reliable results to physicians and medical teams.
Location: Williamsville, NY
Shift: 1st Shift
Salary: Up to $75,000/year
Key Responsibilities:
  • Sample Preparation & Testing: Receive, order, prepare, and assay laboratory samples, ensuring all procedures align with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Results Analysis & Reporting: Accurately interpret and analyze lab test results, input data into the system, and communicate findings to physicians, the Laboratory Manager, or the Laboratory Director.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor programs to ensure data accuracy, maintain records, and adhere to quality control procedures.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide guidance to lab assistants, supervise technical personnel, and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Microscopic Examination: Examine body fluid slides for abnormalities and correlate laboratory data with diagnoses.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify discrepancies or unusual results, take corrective actions, and notify the Laboratory Manager of abnormalities promptly.
  • Equipment Management: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration, quality control, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Reagent Preparation: Prepare reagents and monitor inventory to support laboratory operations.
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree and Medical Technologist License from New York State Education Department
  • Minimum one-year experience in similar role
  • Current medical terminology and full range of laboratory tests and equipment required

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science preferred
  • Antibodies and Reference Lab experience preferred
  • Experience in DNA extraction, PCR and molecular techniques is preferred
  • Blood bank experience would be a plus
  • Understanding of ELISA, LIA and IFA strongly preferred
