A Brief Overview

Reporting to a Senior Vice President, the Vice President Construction Manager is responsible for coordinating design and construction programs ranging from designing and building federal government, military housing, light commercial to high rise projects for Hunt Building Company, LTD. The Vice President Construction Manager is responsible for development of and construction management of Enhance Use Lease ("EUL") projects with the Federal Government.

What you will do



  • Work in partnership with the design and construction project team supporting the application of approved standards and post-project review to ensure planning and products delivered are in-line with approved guidelines and standards.
  • Works with governmental and nongovernmental jurisdictional authorities for permitting, design approval and construction implementation.
  • Assists in the development of a real estate strategy that compliments and supports business goals.
  • Provides needs analysis, workplace standards and guidelines, engineering standards, planning models, comprehensive interior fit out specifications and cost analysis.
  • Develops specific client requirements and establish clear and verifiable expectations.
  • Ensures all stakeholders and their needs are identified and managed.
  • Develops plans and budgets for review and approval. Orchestrates and drives the successful and timely design and construction of projects to achieve the business goals, including the identification and resolution of risks and issues, which impact project delivery.
  • Supports selection (including RFP if appropriate), completion and adherence of contractual agreements, with architects, engineering firms, GC's, project management firms, and other vendors in support of project delivery. Analyzes bids and interview bidders, evaluates qualifications, and makes recommendations to the ownership team.
  • Drives a functional, creative, efficient, and cost-effective design and implementation process.
  • Works collaboratively with team to develop comprehensive project plans based on approved funding.
  • Develops and monitors actual schedule and costs against structured project plans; monitor actual schedule and costs against the project estimates. Reports significant variances and develop corrective action plans.
  • Communicates effectively with staff and management on status, issues, risks, project goals and objectives.
  • Creates and distributes project status reports.
  • Works in coordination with Hunt partners in the different disciplines and aspects of RE development to advance and accomplish business goals.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Required or
  • equivalent experience in business Required
  • Minimum of five to ten years' in the construction and project management industry, planning, estimating, monitoring, and reporting through the full project lifecycle, from initiation through closure. Required
  • Strong process management, project management and people management skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • A high degree of professionalism and a strong work ethic coupled with a sense of responsibility and integrity required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point and Project Management Software required.
  • Requires a self-motivated, team player who pays close attention to detail and must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment, multi task and is highly organized.
  • Ability to work independently but also thrive in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
  • Results-oriented with strong project management and execution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with ability to sustain strong relationships with clients, peers, and business partners. Strong meeting organization and facilitation skills.

Compensation

We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience.
