Purchasing/Procurement Specialist

Overview of the Position:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible and accountable for Purchase order placement for tactical and strategic buying of aircraft material for customers work orders and stock requirements. Purchase order allocation, follow-up and expediting material for open work order requirements. Manage the Bond self and RMA process. The Procurement Specialist has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Place Purchase Orders generated from the Materials.
  • Generate and administer purchase orders to vendors from approved requisitions.
  • Follow up/ call backs on open purchase orders with vendors.
  • Expedite material with vendors to meet internal customer work orders requirements.
  • Allocate outstanding material purchases to open customer work orders requirements.
  • Coordinate scheduling, expedites and reschedules of all purchase orders.
  • Ensure all data in quick aviation is accurate and up to date at all times.
  • Report significant changes in pricing and delivery to Procurement Supervisor and management.
  • Propose and facilitate continuous improvements within the position and associated tasks.
  • Other reporting and/ or task may be added as necessary.

  • Computer Skills: Basic skills in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and company ERP system.

Education and/or Experience:

1-2 years of related experience in purchasing position or some combination of education and experience is possible depending on experience. High school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret federal regulations, customer, engineering drawings, manufacturer's maintenance manuals and sketches as required. Ability to understand general content of manufacturer's maintenance manuals (CMM's), customer contracts, and aircraft illustrated parts catalogs (IPC's) as required. Additional documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and specifications as required or when necessary. The ability to update routine reports and correspondence when required.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
