DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in various tasks related to the repair and upkeep of structures, bridges, equipment, and machinery to ensure public safety. The role demands a journeyman level of expertise in carpentry, welding, masonry, electrical work, and plumbing. To prolong the lifespan of structures, the incumbent will undertake tasks such as constructing concrete formwork, installing environmental controls, building temporary shoring, welding metal supports, replacing components, and painting surfaces as directed by a supervisor. Additionally, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of structures, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, facilities, and other roadway infrastructures, utilizing skills across multiple trades. The role also involves operating various construction equipment, including arc and MIG welders, pipe threaders, concrete saws, and a range of hand and power tools. Furthermore, you will conduct maintenance and minor mechanical repairs on equipment both in the field and at the county maintenance shed to ensure operational safety and functionality.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Schedule is subject to change seasonally or due to weather
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
