West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications and nominations for the following employment opportunity: The Department of Accounting and Management in the School of Business invites applications for a nine month, full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Accounting position to begin August 2025. Responsibilities include teaching 12 undergraduate hours per semester in a variety of accounting courses and other responsibilities commensurate with a teaching position. Applicants who can teach accounting information systems, accounting for nonbusiness entities, auditing, individual/corporate tax accounting, and fraud related courses, in addition to financial accounting, are of particular interest to the department. The position requires course delivery via in-seat and online modalities utilizing Blackboard with Quality Matters Standards. Additional responsibilities include student advising, recruitment, retention, curriculum assessment, involvement with student organization, and performing other duties associated with a faculty position. Date of Appointment: August 15, 2025 (Friday before classes start); the candidate, who will be selected to start in the fall 2025, may have the option to begin the spring 2025 depending on availability and credentials. Masters in Accounting with CPA or CMA certification is required. Doctorate in Accounting or related field or ABD with completion by May 2025 is preferred. Evidence of scholarly promise, excellent communication skill, and student-centered philosophy is essential. Evidence of college-level teaching and active use of technology is highly desirable.
