Position Summary The Retail Intern role will gain valuable hands-on experience in the operations and management of a retail business. The Retail Intern will complete a 12-week project-based assignment and complete a final project presentation at the end of the program. Will work closely with experienced professionals to learn about the retail industry and contribute to the success of the organization. Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving customer issues or complaints.

  • Sales Support: Support sales team members by restocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and helping with product displays to enhance the shopping experience.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control by conducting stock checks, tracking inventory levels, and helping with stock replenishment.

  • Visual Merchandising: Collaborate with visual merchandisers to create appealing displays and arrange products to attract customers.

  • Store Operations: Learn about the daily operations of a retail store, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and point-of-sale (POS) system operation.

  • Retail Marketing: Assist in executing marketing initiatives, such as promotional events, sales campaigns, and customer engagement activities.

  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to sales, customer behavior, and inventory turnover to make informed recommendations for improving store performance.

  • Assist in Administrative Tasks: Help with administrative duties, including scheduling, record-keeping, and maintaining store documents.

  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with store staff and other interns to accomplish tasks and projects efficiently.

  • Learning and Development: Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings to gain knowledge about retail industry trends, products, and best practices.

  • Adherence to Policies: Follow company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and ethical standards.

  • Able to work weekends and most holidays

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to work a morning and evening shifts as business needs dictate. Will be scheduled to work between 20-30 hours per week during the 12-week assignment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., business, marketing, retail management). Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems is a plus.

Position Hiring Range

The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.

Compensation: $20.00 - $21.00

Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
