The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has an immediate opening for a Marketing Research Analyst to support our Advertising Sales team. This role will focus on gathering primary and secondary data and analyzing market trends to prepare effective B2B marketing materials, sales collateral and identify advertising revenue opportunities. This position requires the ability to transform research into clear, engaging presentations and materials that tell stories in support of our multi-brand product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Market Research: Conduct comprehensive research on market trends, consumer behaviors, census data, labor statistics, and other readily available data, including competitor strategies, using tools like Nielsen, Google Analytics, and other industry-standard platforms.
  • Support Sales & Marketing Teams: Provide data-driven insights to the sales and B2B marketing teams to inform pre-sales strategies such as lead generation.
  • Data Storytelling: Analyze data and present findings in an easy-to-understand, actionable format. Translate research into strategic insights that support decision-making.
  • Sales Enablement Support & Tools: Collaborate with the sales team to provide research-backed tools and presentations that assist in client engagement and closing deals. Develop visually compelling decks, presentations, and other tools that communicate research insights clearly to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Competitive & Market Analysis: Conduct competitor analysis and track industry trends to inform sales and marketing strategies.
  • Trend Forecasting: Track emerging trends in the market, delivering forward-looking insights to both the sales and B2B marketing teams.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field with no Bachelor's degree. Ability to translate complex primary and secondary data into actionable strategies and visually compelling presentations
  • Experience with media & audience analytics platforms such as Nielsen, ComScore and/or other cross tabulation software
  • Experience with advertising analytics platforms such as AdImpact, MediaRadar, Kantar, MEdia Monitors
  • General understanding of corporate sales environments, sales enablement processes and CRM preferred
  • Familiarity with programmatic advertising tools, digital analytics such as Google Analytics, and competitive intelligence tools such as Adbeat a plus
  • Knowledge of media sales a plus


USD 58,400.00 - 87,600.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $58,400.00 - $87,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
