Overview
The Department of Technology, Design, and Technical Education (TDTE) at Utah State University (USU) seeks a full-time Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Coordinator (Program Coordinator III) for the CTE programs at the USU Blanding Campus. This role supports the growth and administration of CTE programs, including health professions, and involves building industry partnerships, collaborating with government and non-government agencies, coordinating recruitment and marketing, and developing educational resources. The CTE Program Coordinator will focus on cultivating relationships with industry, government, and tribal entities to enhance program offerings and facilitate student internships. This full-time staff role requires both administrative and educational expertise to deliver quality support for CTE programs.

This position is based at the USU Blanding Campus in Blanding, Utah. Application reviews begin in December 2024 and continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is January 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with industry, government, and tribal agencies to enhance program relevance learning design,, and expand student learning opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external agencies and curriculum advisory committees, including tribal entities, to provide regular student learning progress reports as required.
  • Develop and coordinate student internships and experiential learning opportunities in collaboration with industry partners; serve as the instructor of record for internship courses.
  • Coordinate and support recruitment and marketing efforts for all CTE programs at the USU Blanding Campus.
  • Develop and update promotional materials and program website content, including program descriptions, flyers, and brochures.
  • Enhance the value of the CTE program by seeking external funding, forming new industry partnerships, creating student experiential learning opportunities, and developing industry-based curriculum support.
  • Participate in program compliance and accreditation activities, tracking and reporting student progression and outcomes to ensure program integrity.
  • Research and develop educational resources based on best practices; evaluate their impact through analytics and feedback.
  • Analyze information and evaluate solutions to align programs with student needs.
  • Monitor performance and take corrective action as needed.
  • Teach non-credit workshops or training sessions within your area of expertise, as needed.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing, as some duties may require driving university vehicles and transporting materials.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in secondary or higher education.
  • Marketing experience.
  • Experience with industry collaboration and/or partnership development.
  • Experience developing proposals, programs, and/or curriculum.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to foster collaboration with university staff, faculty, and community partners.
  • Active listening skills to understand and address stakeholder needs.
  • Resolve issues professionally, even in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrate commitment to student and program success and to USU Blanding's mission in CTE and workforce development.
  • Show cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a culturally diverse workforce in a multicultural setting.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exhibit a willingness to improve professional effectiveness and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in business productivity software (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, scheduling, etc.)
