Systems Engineer - Controls & EMC

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Electrical and Controls team. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experiences in System Engineering, Controls and EMI/EMC design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Controls Design (75%):

    • Create and advance technical specifications for electrical, controls, and software designs based on customer requirements and product needs.

    • Design, develop, and manage control systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards, including panel layout, component selection, controller programming, HMI integration, commissioning, and testing.

    • Design and optimize control behavior to enhance system performance and reliability

    • Establish and maintain standard modules and interfaces for electrical, controls, and software designs.

    • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including engineering project leads, project management, and marketing to deliver solutions to our customers.

    • Conduct and manage testing and validation for control systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and EMI/EMC performance, lead troubleshooting and resolve any related issues.

  • EMI/EMC Design (25%):

    • Develop and maintain EMI/EMC design guidelines and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.

    • Prepare and present technical reports and documentation related to EMI/EMC design and testing.

    • Provide technical guidance to design and cross-functional teams to incorporate EMI/EMC considerations into product designs for both new and existing products.

    • Manage EMC testing and validation with our suppliers, review reports, and perform follow-up actions to resolve EMI/EMC issues to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred

  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in Control Systems design and EMI/EMC design

  • Strong knowledge of control systems, algorithms, and EMI/EMC standards and regulations required; experience within Data Centers and Industrial Facilities preferred

  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing equipment and methodologies

  • Experience with simulation and modeling tools, including those for EMI/EMC analysis preferred

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$76,000.00 - $141,100.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
