MaineHealth Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders (GLCOE) is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to support children with autism and developmental disorders full or part time in year-round early intervention, preschool and K-12 programs. Under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Special Education Teacher, the Behavior Tech/Ed Tech will be responsible for teaching children using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) within a multi-disciplinary team. This role is crucial in helping children achieve the goals outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs), and Positive Behavior Support Plans. GLCOE is dedicated to training the next generation of professionals. We provide tuition reimbursement, BCBA clinical supervision, student teaching/mentorship, internships, career advancement opportunities and ongoing training. Summary: Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. 2. License/Certifications: Certification as an Education Technician III from the Maine Department of Education required (minimum of 90 credits in approved study). 3. Experience: Two years of relevant experience working with children or youth with developmental disorders, mental health disorders and/or challenging behaviors in a school, hospital or residential setting preferred. 4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: DOE fingerprinting. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide education and care to students/patients (ages 5-20) with consideration of variable cognitive abilities, developmental levels and culture patterns. Minimal proficiency in swimming in shallow and deep water to secure safety of students in event of an emergency. 5.
