Job Overview:

The Logistics and Customer Service Representative is an integral part of a dynamic and a highly communicative cross-functional team environment working together to build seamless customer service. This position involves detailed interaction with internal and external customers including issuing quotations, order entry, and dealing with import/export. It involves communicating clearly with all internal departments and customers/distributors outside the company daily.

Responsibilities:


  • Internal coordination of consolidated shipments

  • Complete customs formalities for imports and exports

  • Prepare and provide customers with all information and documentation required for shipment

  • Bid for freight and customs clearance when requested by the customer. Organize the transport of goods locally, nationally or abroad. Prepare export documents in collaboration with the customs broker.

  • Optimization of transport costs by region (studies and analyze transport cost for reducing our totals cost)

  • Manage and enter orders into the system

  • Communicate with customers via email or telephone regarding open orders, technical information and support in understanding the product.

  • Work with the Shipping, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Product Management, Distributor Development and other pertinent departments to ensure excellent communication.

  • Collaborate with an implementation of a new system (J.D. Edwards)

  • Ensure physical inventory accuracy

  • All other related tasks




Requirements:


  • High School diploma or GED required

  • 3+ years of experience with customer service and knowledge of customs (tax and import tariffs)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint




Preferences:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, logistics or equivalent certification preferred

  • Proficiency in logistics software, supplier management systems, data analytics, and ERP systems




Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:


  • This position is on-site in Jenison, MI with little to no travel required.
