Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking qualified candidates to fill our Slitter Operator position at our facility located in Jackson, Tennessee.

This is an 1st shift (7a-3p) working Monday - Friday.Candidate must be able to train on 1st shift for up to 90-120 days, but this is not guaranteed.

Starting pay is $21.08/hr.There is a $2.50/hr differential for hours worked between 7p-7a.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Slitter in order to:
    • Ensure safety
    • Perform to quality, waste, and production standards and goals
    • Meet or exceed the customers (both internal and external) expectations
    • Meet the highest of quality standards
    • Communicate orally and/or in writing to other departments for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective material, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and daily shift information
    • Report production accurately and timely throughPrism to include waste,WIP,time codes, raw materials, etc.
  • Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations
  • Manage the duties of an operator, including but not limited to:
    • Prepare master rolls for slitting
    • Place rolls in machine and prepare for splicing
    • Properly segregate and label all materials (as appropriate) - for work in process, rewinds, trash, and hold)
    • Assist in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary
    • Remove and weigh startup rolls/materials at beginning of job
    • Perform daily housekeeping duties to keep area clean and organized during setup, run and end of shift
    • Remove and weigh all waste
    • Keep trash waste separated from recycle materials
    • Properly store all unused equipment

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
