Position: Sr. Business & Risk Analyst (LHT)

Department: Risk, Lucknow-Highspire Terminals

Location: Denver, CO

Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Hybrid - min 3 days a week in-office, 7am - 3pm (Mountain) typical with occasional additional hours

We are looking to hire a highly driven Sr. Business & Risk Analyst to assist the company with improving business performance and assisting with daily risk management activities. The responsibilities will involve preparing a daily position report to assess our overall exposure to commodity prices as well as assisting the executive team with evaluating current and new business strategies and communicating to management how these strategies affect business performance. The successful applicant will have a detailed understanding of the full Microsoft Office suite and other data intelligence tools (emphasis on Excel), will be extremely fast at solving problems and will have demonstrated successful prior experience as a business and/or risk analyst.

Position Summary

This position is specific to our Lucknow-Highspire Terminals LLC (LHT) business. Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, the Sr. Business & Risk Analyst will prepare a daily position report that is used to calculate LHT's net daily exposure . Additionally, the Sr. Business & Risk Analyst will be involved in managing business related tasks such as creating reports on the performance of the business, providing analysis, and producing models which will be used by the executive team to drive operational and financial decisions and ultimately improve overall business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble a position report each morning before our daily management call to determine the company's daily net commodity exposure
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents
  • Conduct research, collect and analyze data to prepare reports and documents
  • Collect and analyze market data, technical indicators, and commodity fundamentals
  • Provide analysis and make recommendations to increase accuracy and execution velocity
  • Create reports for the executive team to accurately and efficiently communicate operational and financial performance
  • Participate in and lead meetings
  • Identify operational, financial and technological risks within the business
  • Maintain, test and recommend improvements to business and system operations
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Identify innovative ways to increase financial performance and customer loyalty
  • Communicate to senior management
  • Support corporate level analysis including development of presentations for Executives, senior leaders and the Board of Directors
  • Provide strategic analysis and information for development of short-term and long-term strategies
  • Track key procurement performance metrics
  • Create, review and analyze daily, weekly and monthly performance reports, position reports, margin reports, sales reports, and other reports as needed or requested by management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or related field (Required)
  • Master's Degree in Business, Accounting or related field (Preferred)
  • 5 years' experience in a business/data analyst role minimum
  • 3 - 5 years' Oil & Gas industry experience
  • Expert proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced proficiency of MS Visio and Access
  • Advanced proficiency using BI tools such as Tableau or a similar platform
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
  • Experience working with commodity pricing, indexes, hedging, and risk management
  • Advanced proficiency with data correlation related to market conditions and the impact to P&L, COGS, Margin and overall performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple/conflicting priorities and meet reporting deadlines
  • Detail oriented, organized and commitment to report accuracy
  • Effectively handle/resolve issues on a proactive and reactive basis
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays

Pay & Benefits

Hiring Range/Annual Pay Rate: $85,000 - $100,000 Annually
