Job Title: General Manager - Systems

Summary of Job

The General Manager of Protective Products - Systems is responsible for leading the sales growth, operations, and overall profitability of the business segment. Management areas include sales and business development, plant operations, safety, quality, compliance, employee management, and achieving Pregis companywide goals. In addition, this individual will help to manage and grow key customer relationships. The individual in this role will have demonstrated strong capabilities in financial acumen, business planning & strategy, operations management, commercial management, leadership, and executive presence.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Direct, manage, and optimize the P&L for the business unit - including safety, sales, procurement, plant operations, coordination, quality, customer service, environmental compliance, and sustainability.
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision, linking resources of the business with its respective markets.
  • Oversee the multi-functional business unit team, directly and indirectly. This includes operations, sales, finance, quality, safety, and HR.
  • Set and manage to the annual budget, forecasts, and monthly financial summaries for the business.
  • Drive top line growth of the business by delivering an optimal customer experience, growing current customer base, as well as seeking out and developing new opportunities for increased business.
  • Maintain and grow key customer relationships.
  • Drive accountability on policies and procedures which guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Build effective alliances with other Pregis plants to better serve the customers that cross multiple business units.
  • Drive a culture of safety, which includes ensuring robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training practices are implemented and sustained to meet OSHA and other required regulations, in addition to Pregis requirements.
  • Lead identification and prioritization of opportunities for targeted improvements by creating, reviewing, and monitoring data or reports that show performance to KPIs (such as safety, quality, waste, and productivity)
  • Attract, hire, and develop direct reports, and create succession plans.
  • Engage regularly with employees to ensure alignment, communication, and engagement across the facilities. Lead with the Pregis Core Values of integrity, collaboration, innovation, and customer focus, and promote the Pregis Purpose

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams)



Environment



  • Varies based on whether in-office or plant (frequency will vary based on business need)
  • May be frequent office environment.
  • When in plant:




    1. Exposure to moving equipment.
    2. Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
    3. Humidity may exceed 80%
    4. Noise may exceed 85dB+





Physical Characteristics



  • Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%
  • Frequent sitting
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling.
  • Frequent typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.



Education and Experience



  • Education equivalent of Bachelors' degree required, Masters or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years' relevant experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of overall departmental functions preferred.
